Downspouts Drains in Orlando, Florida

Sam designed an extensive drainage system for our lakefront home with a basement, specified and supplied all of the materials for our crew to complete the installation, and consulted with us throughout the entire project to make sure everything was done correctly. This was a tremendous project, and working with Sam allowed us to save a significant amount of money while still ending up with a professionally designed system that was installed exactly as intended. His knowledge of drainage and water management is exceptional. He is the real deal. I feel particularly qualified to say that because I’ve owned multiple homes with basements, including multiple homes with basements in Florida, and I understand just how serious and complicated water and drainage issues can be here. I honestly don’t know how long Sam is going to remain as accessible as he is now. He is already extremely busy, and I expect he is only going to get busier. Finding someone with this level of expertise who is also willing to work with homeowners and their own crews is incredibly rare. If you have water or drainage issues in Florida, finding Sam is like striking gold. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Sam was great! We purchased materials from him to complete the work ourselves. Sam stopped by several times to check on our progress and offer assistance. One thing that he can work on is texting back lol… He didn’t text back BUT he did show up the same day, even if it was after 7pm! He’s dedicated, he has pride in his work, and his company. In our experience Sam is very patient and professional! We’d recommend Sam in a heartbeat!! Thank you Sam!

Good quality work and attention to detail. Knowledgeable and uses quality materials. Highly recommended.

I have to say this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with a company. I needed a few parts for my DIY French drain project, so I reached out to Sam’s French Drain. To my surprise, Sam himself took the time to come out and look at my project. Not only did he help me get the parts I was missing, but he also shared his knowledge, offered valuable advice, and gave me recommendations that will help ensure my project is successful. It’s rare to find a business owner who is willing to take time out of a busy schedule to personally help a customer. I’m incredibly grateful for Sam’s professionalism, expertise, and willingness to go above and beyond. If you’re looking for quality products, honest advice, and outstanding customer service, I highly recommend Sam’s French Drain. Thank you again, Sam, for all of your help!

I traveled from north Florida to Orlando to get materials from Sam and followed all his directions and tips, including his YouTube videos. We replaced a system a different contractor (not Sam) installed previously that wasn't up to par and I got tired of it failing and backing up. We installed the buried downspouts ourselves following Sam's directions and it works flawlessly. The 3.5" FDM pipe is perfection and the pop-up emits all our roof runoff with no hassle. The pipe stays clean, and our side yard stays NOT FLOODED! The FDM products and system are the real deal and Sam will shoot you straight on how to get it done right! If you're in central Florida you're not going to get a better install than Sam's French Drains and if you're outside his install radius your best to go to him for materials and tips - more than worth your time!

Sam is an awesome dude! I purchase all my drainage products from him. As another drainage contractor there is no competition or ego with what we do. Just providing great work with the right products for anyone with drainage issues.

Sam and his crew were great to work with. He is very communicative and thorough. We had initially planned on him fixing some issues with another company's installed French drain, but once work started, it was very apparent he would need to redesign a section to get it to drain properly.eve with multiple projects stacked up, he still took the time to do it the right way. With the last several heavy rains that we've had, I have noticed no more water overflowing my gutters or drain lines getting overwhelmed. Would recommend them to anyone

Sam and his crew did an outstanding job

I was looking to purchase French Man products, and was given Sam's French Drains and Landscape as the local source. I called Sam who returned my call promptly and went out of his way to provide me with everything I needed. Sam meet me at a local retailer parking lot where he took the time to lay everything out and showed me how best to complete my project. Sam had all the parts I needed and offered to provide me with specific videos on how to complete the work and to talk my calls for help if needed. If highly recommend Sam's French Drains and Landscape for any of your drainage needs.

I cannot say enough good things about Sam's French Drains and Landscape and the incredible job he did at my home. After dealing with several challenging months of drainage problems and surface water runoff from my neighbor's yard, I was feeling frustrated and worried about the potential long-term erosion damage to my property. From the very first conversation, Sam put my mind at ease with knowledge, honesty, and a genuine willingness to help. What stood out to me most was how Sam truly cared about doing the job right. He took the time to assess the situation thoroughly, explain the recommended solution, and answer every question I had without ever making me feel rushed. It's rare these days to find a professional like Sam that combines expertise with such outstanding customer service. Moreover, Sam was forthright and transparent about the demand in his schedule; and the wait was well worth his time. The installation of my roughly 200 foot open French drain system was handled professionally from start to finish. Sam was punctual, hardworking, respectful of my property, and kept the work area as clean as possible throughout the project. His attention to detail is impeccable and his commitment to quality craftmanship was evident every step of the way. He takes pride in the product he uses; and his systems don't fail! Sam took the time to answer every question I had; even when I knew he would tell me I was just overthinking the problem. Since the installation, the difference has been remarkable. Even after heavy rain and continued surface water runoff from my neighbor's yard, the areas that used to collect water are now draining exactly as they should. Knowing that my home and yard are better protected gives me tremendous peace of mind. If you are looking for a trustworthy French Drain installer that stands behind his work and genuinely cares about his customers, I highly recommend Sam to tackle your opportunity. He exceeded my expectations in every way, and I am truly grateful for the excellent work he performed at my residence. Thank you, Sam, for turning a stressful situation into such a positive experience. Your attention to detail combined with your willingness to go the extra mile in doing what's right to help solve problems for the customer, is what truly sets you apart. Chris

Attention Central Florida DIYers, Home or Business Owners!!! Sam was Professional, Knowledgable and Accommodating with getting me the product I needed for my DIY project this week. Not only did Sam get back with me in the same day, he spend time to understand my project, as well as offer tips and suggestions on the best way to complete the job. You don’t see this kind of customer service nowadays! Check out the work Sam and his crew have done on YouTube as well. The attention to detail, care and pride on all his projects is clearly evident. I’ve found my French Drain Guy! You should do the same!

I am so glad we went with Sam for our yard drainage issues. He explains everything, uses top notch materials, and stays as long as it takes to get the job done right. He really knows his craft and is meticulous about his work. He even makes rounds to your property after it rains to make sure everything is flowing properly. No shortcuts. That is old school work ethic and it is hard to find nowadays. We thought he would be more expensive b/c of all of the above and the materials he uses, but he is not. We got 2 other quotes from bigger companies and they were actually more expensive. There is a waiting list due to it being a smaller business and personalized service, but it is so worth the wait.

Uses the best products made in the USA, Best French drain guys in Florida

I was very concerned about moisture in my concrete slab, but Sam's assessment was a relief. Instead of pushing an expensive new installation, he saved me significant costs by cleaning and repairing my existing system. He explained the issues clearly and taught me how to maintain everything moving forward. If you want an honest, skilled professional who won't upsell you on things you don't need, call Sam. I highly recommend him.

I needed the best drainage pipe in the business (4" new and old formula) from the French Drain Man and Sam moved heaven and earth to re-fill my personal DIY supply down here in Florida! No matter how busy Sam was (and he is VERY busy with many, many satisfied customers), he always got back to me!! Just remember folks, reach out to Sam and have patience - trust me - you need him more than he will be needing you!!!

Outstanding service. Sam and his team installed a french drain system at our home this month and did a fantastic job. He communicates each step of the way, takes lots of before and after photos to show you progress, is meticulous and detailed, and cares about doing it right. He found many areas on our property outside his scope that needed fixing as well and took care to do things right (I had to remind him too many times to make sure he charges us for all the work he did)! We would recommend with 5 stars to anyone that could use a professional like Sam and his team that truly cares about getting it right, and we look forward to using him again

Great company. Five stars. Helped me out with some flooding in my backyard and has passion for the work. Definitely recommend! Thanks again !

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Customer Review for Sam’s French Drains and Landscape We originally hired a primary installer to resolve our drainage issues, but they never fixed the problem—and eventually stopped responding entirely. A second contractor claimed they could correct everything, but reused the same inadequate materials and clearly didn’t understand how to optimize a yard drain, downspout drain, or French drain system. They also failed to address surface water from rain and sprinklers. As a result, our yard continued to erode, water pooled after every rain or sprinkler cycle, and there was no proper outlet for runoff. The drains lacked consistent slope, and the catch basin they installed could not be adjusted—forcing every pipe to be raised to match it, which only made drainage worse. Finding Sam of Sam’s French Drains and Landscape: After years of frustration, we finally found Sam—and the experience was completely different from the start. Previous installers used flimsy big-box materials, ignored slope and grading, and left us with pipes literally popping out of the ground. Sam approached the problem with true expertise and care. He came out during a major storm so he could observe our drainage issues in real time. While other contractors rushed to “finish in a day,” Sam focused on diagnosing the real problem. He explained that we did not need a French drain at all—despite both previous contractors insisting on one. Instead, we needed: - A proper roof runoff drain from the downspouts - Yard catch basins installed at correct elevations - A fully adjustable system maintaining correct slope to both the street (front) and lake (rear) - Correct grading of the yard—something none of the prior installers addressed Sam also shared that when he installs systems himself, they typically take a full week—not a rushed single day—to ensure everything is done correctly. DIY With Sam’s Expert Guidance: We decided to do the work ourselves, and Sam became a true partner throughout the process. He provided: - A detailed materials list - Product recommendations using French Drain Man (FDM) components - Instructional videos - Hands-on training at our home Once our FDM products arrived, Sam spent over two hours walking us through: - How to assemble every component - How to measure and maintain proper slope - How to grade the yard correctly before installing anything - How to avoid all the mistakes our previous contractors made - Real examples of what proper drainage should look like Throughout the project, he remained available by phone, reviewed every set of progress photos we sent, and even returned multiple times to check our work in person and help troubleshoot. When we followed his instructions exactly, the system came together perfectly—and when we deviated, he helped us understand how to correct it. We worked side by side on weekends, checking slope every couple of feet with a small bubble level—something neither previous installer ever bothered to do. The Result: It has now been six months since we completed the installation, and our drainage system has performed flawlessly through both Florida thunderstorms and daily sprinkler cycles. The water flows exactly as it should, our pipes remain solidly buried, and our yard no longer floods or erodes. The difference compared to the first two contractors is truly night and day. Final Recommendation: We highly recommend: - French Drain Man products — engineered, durable, and vastly superior to big-box store parts. - Sam’s French Drains and Landscape — Sam’s knowledge, professionalism, experience, and genuine care transformed our project into a long-term success. Without Sam’s guidance, we would still be fighting major drainage issues on both sides of our home. Thanks to him, our yard drainage is no longer a nightmare—it finally functions exactly as it should.
