The system he installed is neat and effective. It’s a beauty to go outside in the rain and watch it work. The water is removed immediately from the land and out where it’s designed to go . I’ve dealt with many contractors over the years, and my experience with Sam has been one of the best. My back patio area has standing water after it rains. I called Sam's French Drains to perform hydro-jetting of the drainage system. Sam took the time to explain the problem and told me the process of clearing the clogged drainage system. He was very thorough and determined to get the job done right. A week later I asked him to put in a clog free pop-up and extend the drainage beyond my sidewalk out to the street. Sam had to dig under the driveway. As a DIY’er, with only a 25’ run of a French drain to build, I’m tackling the project of building an open French drain myself. Sam was amazing and helped guide me thru the entire process. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Customer Review for Sam’s French Drains and Landscape We originally hired a primary installer to resolve our drainage issues, but they never fixed the problem—and eventually stopped responding entirely. A second contractor claimed they could correct everything, but reused the same inadequate materials and clearly didn’t understand how to optimize a yard drain, downspout drain, or French drain system. They also failed to address surface water from rain and sprinklers. As a result, our yard continued to erode, water pooled after every rain or sprinkler cycle, and there was no proper outlet for runoff. The drains lacked consistent slope, and the catch basin they installed could not be adjusted—forcing every pipe to be raised to match it, which only made drainage worse. Finding Sam of Sam’s French Drains and Landscape: After years of frustration, we finally found Sam—and the experience was completely different from the start. Previous installers used flimsy big-box materials, ignored slope and grading, and left us with pipes literally popping out of the ground. Sam approached the problem with true expertise and care. He provided: - A detailed materials list - Product recommendations using French Drain Man (FDM) components - Instructional videos - Hands-on training at our home Once our FDM products arrived, Sam spent over two hours walking us through: - How to assemble every component - How to measure and maintain proper slope - How to grade the yard correctly before installing anything - How to avoid all the mistakes our previous contractors made - Real examples of what proper drainage should look like Throughout the project, he remained available by phone, reviewed every set of progress photos we sent, and even returned multiple times to check our work in person and help troubleshoot. When we followed his instructions exactly, the system came together perfectly—and when we deviated, he helped us understand how to correct it. We worked side by side on weekends, checking slope every couple of feet with a small bubble level—something neither previous installer ever bothered to do. The Result: It has now been six months since we completed the installation, and our drainage system has performed flawlessly through both Florida thunderstorms and daily sprinkler cycles. The water flows exactly as it should, our pipes remain solidly buried, and our yard no longer floods or erodes. The difference compared to the first two contractors is truly night and day. Sams French drains came out to our house to take a look at a major drainage issue we have been having each wet season for the last 3 years. After spending over an hour evaluating my system, Sam indicated I had a high quality sewage pump, not usually installed in home systems, but it was not installed deep enough to allow the water to drain. He quoted a price which included lowering the pump correctly so it would drain into the drainage pipes he would install so water would drain into the street. He had city workmen come to indicate underground pipes, made the trench to install, and then replaced the sod strips he removed. All work done efficiently. I have not had any water seepage since Sam evaluated and repaired my system. Not only do I appreciate the quality work and supplies, but I value Sam's honesty. Sam is so knowledgeable and his work was impressive. Even my husband, who is hard to impress, complimented Sam's work. This man knows what he's doing. I had 4 inch drains installed in my pool deck, but then I had my yard crew install the French drains. All of them are clogged and improperly installed. Sam unearthed all the issues. He worked tirelessly until he pulled out huge root systems from my drains. No wonder rain was washing back through the enclosure into the pool. He even advised us on other drainage around the house. With hurricane season being here, we really need to correct and improve the irrigation around our pool and the house in general. I'm so glad we found him. His prices are very reasonable, too. Sam has done a few projects for us and we have been very happy each time. We had a downspout drainage system put in which cleared the sitting rainwater from the side of the house and a paved pathway built, along with some additional smaller jobs. I had a problem with my drain pipes getting crushed by lawn mowers and tractors. At Sams French Drains you can get the high octane corrogated pipe that will not crush and will last. I needed some pipe to do an underground drainage system from my downspouts. I found Sam while looking at another web site that recommended him. Sam was responsive to my call and had the 4 inch pipe I needed. Not only did he have it he delivered to the house which made things really easy. The 4 inch pipe is not the black thin stuff but a heavy blue colored corrugated piping called ARMOR solid pipe. He also has the slotted pipe. Both in 100ft rolls. Great small personal company. My backyard has a negative grade and sits at a lower level than the neighbors. This caused constant water accumulation near the foundation and wet backyard. Sam did a detailed study of the problem, provided expert guidance and installed the perfect french drain system i have ever seen. He is very knowledgable in his field of expertise. He uses top grade material and is very thorough with his job. Sam installed 100s of feet of double pipe french drain, sump pump and also connected the downspouts with a different kind of adapter for easy cleanout. I am glad i had Sam work on my water problem and am 100% sure I will not face any problems with water accumulation at my home. I would highly recommend Sam for all your french drainage requirements.
